Search is available free to GIAL cardholders
and can be remotely accessed within the United States at http://newfirstsearch.oclc.org.
You may apply by visiting the GIAL Library or mailing in a filled
out application. Click here for a library
card application. You may copy this to a Word file, fill it
out and attach it to an e-mail to library_dallas@gial.edu,
or print it out and mail to: GIAL Library, 7500 W. Camp Wisdom Rd.,
Dallas, TX 75236. We will respond by e-mailing you the access number
and semester password. Please e-mail us each semester to obtain
the new semester’s password.
Included in the FirstSearch database are the following
extras:
ATLA (The American Theological Library Association's
database) includes topics in Biblical studies, theology, world religions,
religion and culture.The title list of journals indexed as bibliographic
citations in the ATLA Religion Database can be found here: ftp://ftp.atla.com/public/comprehensive_2006-01-24.pdf
ATLAS is a subset of ATLA for which there
is full text available (about 50 journals are indexed and available).
