The Townsend Scholarship Fund (TSF) offers financial assistance to students enrolled in the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL) on a bimester basis and is open to qualified students who have demonstrated a commitment to a career devoted to Bible translation.

Eligibility
The rules of eligibility state that the applicant must:
Dropping coursework may result in ineligibility for the Townsend Scholarship and in the student being liable for repayment of tuition fees that had been covered by the Townsend Scholarship.
Scholarship Amounts
Scholarships will be awarded for up to one-half (1/2) of the tuition cost per person per bimester and are granted for tuition only.
Disbursements
All notifications of awards will be made by electronic mail if an address is given on the application form. Applicants who do not have e-mail access should call the Dean of Students Office at 1-972-708-7379 no earlier than 3 weeks prior to the start of the bimester.
All scholarship payments will normally be made at the start of the bimester, however disbursement of funds will not be made until payment is being made for the full set of courses required to meet full-time status. If a student is paying for only part of the bimester, the scholarship will not be applied until making the final payment required to meet full-time status.When available funds are exhausted for a particular bimester, all pending applications for that bimester will no longer be considered active and all additional applications for that bimester will no longer be valid.
Applicants are responsible for meeting IRS requirements and obligations entailed by their acceptance of scholarship funds. GIAL will issue a form 1098T that will indicate scholarship income. Before receiving such funds all scholarship recipients must sign the application outlining the terms and conditions of the Scholarship.
