How do I apply for Financial Aid?
When should I apply?
- Read the GIAL Financial Aid Guidelines.
- Complete the GIAL Financial Aid Application.
April 1 is the deadline for the Fall Term (July-December) and
October 1 is the deadline for the Spring Term (January-June).
What scholarships are available?
GIAL offers two scholarships for new students (the King’s and the Townsend),
as well as one for internationals. Occationally there are other scholarships available.
Do I have to have a certain GPA in order to qualify?
Yes, any financial aid requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Do I have to be enrolled full-time or can I be a part-time student?
Preference will be given to those who are enrolled in a GIAL program, either a Certificate or Degree,
but if funds are available, part-time students may apply.
What is considered full-time?
If you are taking any undergraduate courses, you need to take at least 12 hours during the term.
If you are taking graduate courses, you need to be enrolled for 9 – 12 hours, depending on how many sessions you are taking classes.

I can’t find a FAFSA code for GIAL. Does GIAL have one?
No. We are not a Title IV school and so we do not qualify for federal financial aid.
Can I use Veteran Benefits to pay for my GIAL education?
Yes. We are fully certified to accept G. I. Bill Benefits.

When do I pay tuition?
Tuition is due at registrationfor on-site courses, but one week early for online courses. GIAL prefers to have payment up front for the entire term,
but it is possible to set up a paymentplan for an additional fee. The payment options are described on the Financial Aid Guidelines.
Can I charge an account for my tuition?
No. Payment must be in the form of cash, check, or money order. We cannot charge a credit card or personal account.
For students who are not in the US, a money tranfer for Wycliffe or SIL students can be made through the US office.
Will GIAL be worth the cost?
