The King’s Scholarship
When Nehemiah learned that the walls of Jerusalem lay in ruin, he prayed for several months.
Then the King of Babylon, whom Nehemiah served in exile, questioned his sadness so he asked
to go back and rebuild the walls. The King responded by not only sending Nehemiah but by
providing the supplies needed and an escort for protection as well. What a help the King was!
Today we serve another king, The King of the Universe. He is our help and He, too, enlists
others to serve. With this in mind, GIAL has named this scholarship The King's Scholarship in
gratitude to the many faithful people who have given to help our students.
The King’s Scholarship exists to encourage those who are facing financial needs, which
could cause them to postpone their studies at GIAL, or take a lighter load. This needs-based
scholarship will be administered through the GIAL Scholarship Committee with applications
submitted to the Financial Aid Administrator or designee. Students will be asked to demonstrate
financial need as part of the application. The amount of scholarship awards will be based on
both student needs and the availability of funds, but will not exceed 50% of anticipated tuition
expenses. The scholarship will be administered according to GIAL’s nondiscriminatory
equal opportunity policy.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
- be admitted to GIAL
- maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of a least 3.00
on a bimester and cumulative basis
