Admission Requirements

General Requirements

All new students should note that the following will be required before they can be admitted to GIAL:

1. A completed GIAL Application form, accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $25, payable to GIAL (an additional $25 is charged for applications not received six (6) weeks before the beginning of the course.) Applications are good for one year from the first bimester of intended entry. The student must matriculate within this year or a new application form and fee will be required.
2. Official copies of all post-high school transcripts from a regionally or professionally accredited institution where courses were taken toward a degree or pertaining to your expected study program at GIAL, sent directly to the Admissions Office of GIAL. All official academic records from outside the United States and Canada must be sent to both GIAL and to a Credential Evaluation Service to verify U.S. equivalency.
3. Personal and character references from three individuals (non-family members), using the GIAL Reference forms provided (print 3 copies per application).
4. Written statement of purpose
5. Where appropriate for non-native speakers of English, evidence of satisfactory performance on the TOEFL exam or on the IELTS test.
