During my first year in Cameroon, my husband and I advised two national teams in the phonetics of their languages. With basic hands-on skills in how to train others acquired at GIAL, I helped teach two courses and even directed one. Now as we move into our village, I’m extremely grateful to all the professors and students who encouraged and prepared me to serve as linguistic support in Cameroon.”
