AL 5383 Urban Studies

After completing this course, students will be able to discuss the distinctives of urban cultures in various parts of the world, having examined questions such as the following:

How does one define an urban area?

What is over-urbanization?

What is a primate city?

What social and political mechanisms hold an urban area together?

Students will complete an urban-based practicum.
