GIAL Commencement 2006

Twenty-one graduates (seven in Fall and fourteen in Spring sessions) received their degrees at the 7th GIAL graduation ceremony on June 9 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill. Dr. Marshall R. Gillam, Executive Director of Lutheran Bible Translators, spoke on the importance of words, challenging graduates to use their lives in Bible work, which, at some level, will make God's Word available to those who don't have it in their language so that they, too, will come to understand "the final word is Jesus." An innovation for this year's ceremony was personal remarks about each graduate, compiled and given by the Dean of Students, Ruth Schilberg.
