Student Body Association
GIAL has an active student government. The Student Body Association (SBA) serves primarily to give voice and representation to the student body, provide channels of communication to GIAL entities, and to integrate all phases of extracurricular life of the student body. Members of the SBA are elected by the student body. The Student Body Association also elects a student representative to the GIAL Board of Trustees, GIAL Faculty Forum, Computer Advisory Committee, Library Committee, Safety Committee and the Institutional Master Planning Committee (IMPC).

Whirlyball is Friday May 18th from 7-8pm
On Friday May 18 you have the incredible opportunity to play WhirlyBall. What is WhirlyBall? Check out it's Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whirlyball. In short, WhirlyBall is a mash-up of basketball, lacrosse, and bumper cars (What could be better?). You play on a special court so you can only do this in a handful of places scattered across the northern hemisphere. The court we are going to has a website that explains how to play, has pictures, and a short video http://www.WhirlyBallDallas.com/.

We have reserved a court from 7pm to 8pm at the Dallas WhirlyBall court located at 147 East Harwood Rd. Hurst, TX 76054. The event is limited to 15 people but if it is full you can put your name on the waiting list. If the waiting list fills quickly we will see if we can rent a second court. The sign-up sheet is located on the Social Events bulletin board (Across from M7). Plan on paying your $15 to Peter Gokey by May 11 (one week before the event). If you have any
questions contact Peter Gokey at peter_gokey@gial.edu

Who should not play Whirly Ball? Pregnant women or anyone with neck or back injury. All players must be at least 10 years old and at least four feet tall.
